Toast Hawaii

A German chef made this dish on TV 1955!

Since this time it is a real classic and a cheap and easy to go to snack. It is great a party food, because you can prepare lots of breads in advance to go into the oven, when people were hungry. With a couple of beers it is even better.

In under 10 mimutes you have a dish that is relatively cheap and uses some ingredients that can be stored in fridge or cupboard for a while. The cherry is not a must, it can easily be paprika powder on top of the cheese, it is less sweet that way.

recipe for 2:
4 slices of toast
1 tbsp of butter
4 slices of cooked hamd
4 slices of pineapple for a can
4 slices of processed burger cheese
1 pinch of paprika powder
2 Amarena cherries

Preheat the grill.
Place the toast into the toaster for just 1 minute to firm it up a bit
Butter the toast
place ham, pineapple and cheese onto the bread.
sprinkle either with paprika or leave the cheese plain.
Bake under the grill for 5 minutes
Lay a cherry onto the plain one.
