Baked Donuts with Chocolate Baileys Glaze

I bought a new 6 Donuts Baking Dish online! It came straight from the USA.

I am not a huge fan of deep fried donuts, so baking them in the oven sounded a lot better and "healthier" to me. In a cook book from Karin Iden I found a basic recipe for oven baked donuts.

A bit of "Baileys Chocolat Luxe" was still in the bottle, that was the flavour of the glaze.
Sprinkles on top are a must :-)

recipe for 12 donuts:
a bit of butter and flour for the baking dish
75 g soft butter
130 g icing sugar
1 tbsp bourbon vanilla sugar
1 pinch ground vanilla bean
2 eggs
1 pinch of salt
150 g flour
50 g potato starch
2 tsp baking powder
150 ml tepid whole milk
icing sugar and liqueur for the glaze
some sprinkles

Preheat the oven 175 C
you don´t need a kitchen machine, just a whisk will do.
Use a  big bowl, a scale and a piping bag.

Place your bowl on the scale a weight in the butter and the sugars, whisk until very smooth.
Add one egg after beating in the other.
Back on the scale and in with starch and half of the flour, add the warm milk and whisk, add baking powder and vanilla bean and then the rest of the flour.
Fill it in a piping bag.

Butter and flour the baking dish, that prevents the donuts from sticking.
Snip off the tip of the piping bag and fill the donut rings about 2 cm high. After 6 place the piping bag tip up in a bowl and wait for the baking of the first batch.

Bake for 19 - 20 minutes, loosen with a toothpick and topple them onto a wire rack.
Clean the baking dish completely and start with butter and flour again.
Bake the rest.

Mix the Baileys Chocolat Luxe with the icing sugar until it makes a paste and cover the top of the donuts with it, add some sprinkles.
