Chestnut Cream Dessert

Japanese people love seasonal food. In autumn, chestnuts are very popular to eat and are found in some sweets too.


One of the well known desserts is Mont Blanc. There are variations found in bakeries or convenient stores. I tried it as a creamy pot dessert at Family Mart.


Recipe:
1 package vacuum chestnuts
100 ml water
100 g sugar
1 pinch vanilla
200 ml double cream.

Since the chestnuts are already cooked you only have to reheat them and sweeten them. Make the sugar syrup and add the vanilla.
Add the chestnuts and cook them. Use a blender and make a paste.
Beat the double cream to stiff peaks and fold 60 g of the chestnut mix under. Fill into a piping bag and let it rest in the fridge for 1 hour.
