I am huge fan of Onigiri filled with tuna mayo. But the ones you can get here in the supermarkets are just edible.
Thinking about the ones I've eaten from the Japanese convienient stores Lawson, 7/11 or Family Mart had me craving for more.
I've prepared Onigiri myself and they were good, but it is a lot of work to get them right, when you only do it once or twice a year.
But this is a very good way to enjoy the taste of Japanese basic food.
Recipe for 2:
1 ricecooker cup shortgrain rice
Sushi vinegar
Salt
1 can tunafish
Toasted sesame seeds
1 small green onion
3 tbsp Tamari or soy sauce
5 tbsp Kewpie mayo
Sancho Pepper
Korean flavored Noori Snacks
Wash the rice until the water runs clear. Cook it. When done mix with sushi vinegar and salt and cool down a bit.
Drain the tunafish and break it apart with a fork in small chunks. Mix with all other ingredients. When the rice is no longer hot, stir it together.
Use small noori sheets and spread the mix on top.
