Dinner at a Friends House

It was a long time since we had Dinner together.

Lots of things have changed, but the awesome way to cook food did not. We celebrated the start of the year 2024 late, but in style.

Icy roads and winter theme was the name of the game for the first course.

The starter was a Snowman with a baked tree. Two balls of cream cheese rolled in grated Parmesan and stacked together with a toothpick. Fun to see and tasty to eat.

Our next winter theme was an Austrian sausage goulash. Hearty and good to warm the belly. Wieners, bacon and potatoes were the main ingredients. Chopped Tabasco pepper added spice to the dish.

We finished our dinner with an Applestrudel on cream with beechnuts.

These beechnuts were cooked. I loved to pick these up as a child and eat them raw. But not too many, because they are poisenous and contain hydrocynaid acid. That goes away when you cook them.

Friendship and Food, two things that goes together so well.
