I never thought it would work.
I saw the aluminium pouches filled with popcorn kernels, some type of fat and chocolates several times on the Internet.
Some people tried it and it burned the popcorn. I thought, what a waste. Why not put the ingredients in a pot and make popcorn that way.
Today I saw this Reel again. Now was the time, a cold foggy winter day. Let's start the experiment.
I have some sturdy foil at home, which I use seldom. Nearly a quarter cup of popcorn kernels, 2 heaped tablespoon of butter and half of my blue and red Smarties from my Hyundai Driving Experience.
I crumpled the three sides to close the pouch thoroghly together and cut a hole in the middle on top.
A crepe pan is very usefull for this hack. It is flat and that helped me shake the pouch a lot. Otherwise the ingredients would burn. On high heat it took a couple of minutes until the sizzle of the butter started.
Shake the package most of the time, when the popping starts, reduce the heat to medium high and shake. It will take 2,5 min until the popping sound slows down. Take it off and carefully open the package.
Not burned, but chocolaty. That hack worked!
