Pointed cabbage is much softer than the round cabbage. It can be eaten raw or without much fuss stir fried out of a pan.
I had smoked raw ham strips in my fridge from the last food trip to France and they needed to be eaten. Cabbage and bacon, a very good match.
I wanted to eat it with some potatoes, but all in one pan. Planning ahead is good, I blanched the shredded cabbage for 2 minutes in salted water. Took it out and tossed the potato cubes in the water to cook for 5 minutes
The raw ham went in a large pan with a little oil to do its thing. Then cabbage and potatoes went in with a teaspoon of caraway seeds. Caraway is the best friend of cabbage, it helps with the digestion.
Salt, pepper and some veg stock paste came next. I finished the pan dish with fresh parsley.
