It was planned that I got 3 visitors today from Texas, 2 kids and one adult. On the way to the airport I stopped at my local bakery to get some Pain au Chocolat, Croissants and rolls for our breakfast together.
But waiting at the airport for 3 hours left me still by my own and I went home. Later I got the message that both kids were in the hospital with a broken arm, because they ran in to a car. So sad.
Now a bakery bag with goodies was sitting around. Too much to eat for one and stale the next day not a good idea.
A quick solution for the problem was needed. On the way from the car to the house I spotted more ripe figs hanging on the tree. I picked them and used some of them for the bake.
I made an easy breadpudding. Just egg, milk and some sweetener. The ripped apart baked goods in the milk mix and a good stir and a little time to soak. The baking dish brushed with some melted butter and everything together with sliced figs in the dish. Sprinkle with some cinnamon.
Preheat the oven 180 C fan. Bake for 25 min. Serve with some Greek yogurt. My neighbor was excited about having a portion.
Ingredients:
2 eggs
250 ml milk
Sweetener
2 Pain au Chocolat
1 Croissant
1 bread roll
3 fresh figs
Butter for the baking dish
Cinnamon
