Cherry Cake

Gateau aux Cerise.

A quick French recipe for a juicy cake.

Now is cherry time here in Germany and we have them in abundance.
Last year we had freezing temperatures during cherry blossom and so we no cherries.
But this year all the trees are full.

But what is the best method to get the cherry pit out? Zse a knife or some kind of press that gets the stone out with less hassle. We had a plastic machine that was recommened, but it did not work as told.

After 15 min we had enough cherries pitted to get two recipes going.

Recipe:
300 g pitted cherries
2 tsp butter
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
80 g flour
45 g sugar
2 eggs
1 pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
200 ml milk

I divided the mix between to smaller baking dishes.
Butter tge dishes and sprinkle vanilla sugar on top. Pour in the cherries and the batter.
Bake at 210 C for 25 min.
Let it cool down.
