French Onions with Sausage in Baguette

All around here many Christmas markets have started. When I visit one, I like a good Bratwurst stuffed in a bread roll. 

Friends of me visited our local Christmas market and talked about the huge increase of prices. Even the prices for the standart sweets have skyrocket.



I bought a multigrain baguette and decided to make a part of it into a sausage bread roll. But not only slathered with mustard, but stuffed with caramelized onions.



1 red and 1 yellow onion, 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp Agave syrup, 2 tbsp cranberry vinegar, chilisalt and pepper



A little leftover tomato sauce and a good schmeer of Dijon mustard.



The onions need time to soften and brown. Season them. Add a dash of water. Use a lid and medium heat after you start them. When they are soft, add the syrup and start the caramelizing. Finish with the cranberry vinegar.
