Garlic Chili Crisp Oil

I needed a new condiment. As if I do not have any in my fridge.

There is a starter that has caught my eye and it is topped with this condiment. But going out and buying a jar is out of the question. Most of them contain MSG, which I am allergic to.

The first step to the starter is the oil.

Base:

1 1/2 bulbs of garlic, chopped

15 dried Chinese chilis, deseeded and blended

1 tsp chili dried

1 tsp Gochugaru

2 tsp dried onion

1 tsp dried garlic

Hot Oil:

300 ml grapeseed oil

1 star anise

1 clove

12 Szechuan peppercorns

Seasoning:

1 tbsp dark soy sauce

2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp smoked paprika

2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Garlic, Chilis and dried onion and garlic in a heatproof bowl.

Heat up the oil with the spices until smoking hot and use a fine sieve and pour it in the bowl.

Stir well and add soy sauce and the other ingredients. Stir well and fill in a jar.
