Today is Nikolaus Day. December 6th. My BFF and I do not exchange presents at Christmas, but at Nikolaus.
One of the small packages contained a can of Spanish mussels in red mojo sauce. This sauce is a little spicy and has cumin in it. You can taste it.
I decided to use the mussels with the sauce and toss a lettuce with them.
A head of romaine lettuce, 1 piece of cucumber, a stalk of green onion green was the veggie side of the salad.
I toasted some sourdough rye bread in butter and olive oil.
The red mojo sauce, mixed wit a little creme fraiche and a sweet pink balsamic vinegar.
